Charlotte Rollman and John Adkins enjoyed the perfect Fall weather on Tuesday morning (10/22/24), as they captued the changing colors of Mount Le Conte from the Anne Porter Public Library in Gatlinburg, TN.
Both artists captured Mount Le Conte from different painting locations, Charlotte using acrylic and John painting with oil. They captured the the breathtaking transformation of the mountain as its lush greens fade into a symphony of golds, reds, and oranges. As the light shifts throughout the day, plein air painters Charlotte and John bring vibrant, ever-changng autumn landscape to life on canvas.
Mount Le Conte is a mountan located within the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Sevier County, Tennessee. It's highest elevation is 6,493 feet.
Plein air painting is the practice of painting outdoors, directly in the natural environment, rather than in a studio. This method allows artists to capture the true light, color, and atmosphere of a scene as it changes throughout the day.
Charlotte and John are very often joined by other artists who enjoy plein air painting as well.
